MODULO A I SEMESTRE CREDITI ASSEGNATI: 5 ORE DI LEZIONE FRONTALE: 30 Docente: Professoressa Bruna Tortorella e-mail: Bruna.Tortorella@uniroma2.it Programma Introduction to the concept of “language as a system” L’obiettivo generale del corso sarà l’esplorazione e l’analisi del rapporto tra lingua, linguistica, e linguaggi specialistici. Il tema del primo modulo sarà la lingua stessa in quanto sistema: come è organizzata, come è usata in diverse situazioni creando diversi significati. In questa prospettiva nel primo modulo verranno introdotti i seguenti argomenti: - definition of language - components of the language system - definition of communication - characteristics and components of communicative acts - functions of language - definition of communicative competence - key concepts of linguistics - key concepts of pragmatics Una parte delle lezioni sarà dedicata alla acquisizione dell’inglese specialistico per l’informatica. Kramsch, Language and Culture, Oxford University Press MODULO B II SEMESTRE CREDITI ASSEGNATI: 5 ORE DI LEZIONE FRONTALE: 30 Docente: Professoressa Bruna Tortorella e-mail: Bruna.Tortorella@uniroma2.it Programma Translating ESP Il secondo modulo sarà focalizzato sui problemi di traduzione di varie tipologie di testi e in particolare di materiale tecnico-scientifico. In questa prospettiva verranno introdotti i seguenti argomenti: - Language and culture - Types of translation - Decoding and recoding - Equivalence at word level - Equivalence above word level - Grammatical equivalence - Textual equivalence - Cohesion - Pragmatic equivalence - Coherence - Loss and gain - Untranslatability - Technical translation Una parte delle lezioni sarà dedicata a esercitazioni di traduzione e alla acquisizione dell’inglese specialistico per l’informatica.
